ABOUT
The purpose of this blog is to explore the world of Doctor Who in all its forms to draw out useful ideas that can be used in the Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space (DWAITS) published by Cubicle 7. I've been roleplaying for decades and have been a Who fan even longer. With the publication of a new system it seemed the perfect time to generate material to fuel campaigns for years to come.BROKEN HEROES

For this game the player characters were made up of the Inspector, Phillipa and their occasional companion Fred Wong. Picking up from the last adventure the disturbance in the TARDIS had awakened Fred from his long slumber and he stumbled … Continue reading

“Breathe Pond, breathe.”
If ‘Fear Her’ and ‘The Almost People’ have taught us anything it’s that child actors can seriously lower the quality of your episode. Thankfully the rest of the episode was so good it didn’t matter. Like ‘Utopia’ this episode is … Continue reading

House of Mirrors, Part 1
Mirrors have a long relationship with the mythology of Doctor Who. From the mirror powered time machine in ‘Evil of the Daleks’ to the mirror doorways in ‘Warrior’s Gate’, all the way up to their use to send Donna back … Continue reading

“They’re coming. The angels are coming for you.”
The Weeping Angels have a lot of potential in your own adventures. They’ve only appear in two stories (three episodes in total) but are instantly recognisable and any player would be rightfully apprehensive about facing them. Their limited screen time … Continue reading

“Their greatest asset is their greatest curse. They can never be seen. The loneliest creatures in the universe.”
The source of the title of the episode ‘Blink’ comes from the fact that only when you don’t look at a Weeping Angel can it move. The Doctor says they don’t have a choice in this, if a living creature … Continue reading

“I’m telling you, when something runs towards you it’s never for a nice reason.”
‘The Rebel Flesh’ by Matthew Graham had a lot to live up to, namely as the writers last Doctor Who story was ‘Fear Her’, generally regarded as one of the worst of the new series episodes. It is therefore a … Continue reading

“They are fast, faster than you can believe. Don’t turn your back, don’t look away, and don’t blink!”
There may be other unseen abilities of the Weeping Angels. It is very curious that DI Billy Shipton says that in the last two years numerous vehicles have been found outside Wester Drumlins House. We can assume that the owners … Continue reading

“Fascinating race, the Weeping Angels. The only psychopaths in the universe to kill you nicely.”
The Weeping Angels stats are provided in the ‘Aliens and Creatures’ supplement for the Doctor Who game. Completed before the airing of ‘Time of Angels’ it understandably only uses the information provided in ‘Blink’ but how accurate is it? The … Continue reading

“People don’t understand time. It’s not what you think it is.”
‘Blink’ reinforces my belief that time is mostly predestined. Consider that Kathy Nightingale’s grandson rings the door bell before she is sent back in time. When the Weeping Angels do send her into the past they aren’t changing history. There … Continue reading

“Don’t get emotional. That’s when you make mistakes.”
‘The Doctor’s Wife’ by Neil Gaiman is a love song to the classic series. From the arrival of a Time Lord message box straight out of ‘The War Games’ to the Doctor having a heart to heart with his oldest … Continue reading
